here's the answer
Alec Baldwin: What are prop guns and why are they dangerous? (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59006905)
Doesn't seem worth the risk anymore
sadly this isn't the first time this has happen.

Pure incompetence and negligence. Baldwin should be charged as well as folks on set. Bunch of morons
Was a terrible accident Chico. No need for the hangman unless someone incited this action which led to deaths.

Good read here (https://www.reddit.com/r/MorbidReality/comments/qdf214/alec_baldwin_crying_after_he_discharged_a_prop/hhmatj1/?user_id=18719020&web_redirect=true) about what it means to be in charge of handling weapons on set.
The current rumor is that the prop master was non-union and wasn't following proper procedure - if true he should be the only one taking a charge on this. RIP to the poor girl who died - dying due to someone else's negligence is a terrible way to go.

Non union like he was the bad guy…laughable. Who hired non union guy and why? Sounds like a rumor to somehow run cover for a moron like Baldwin…how anyone holds respect for this guy in the first place needs their head examined. Clowns and morons including Baldwin. Most people who know how to handle a gun understand the responsibility.

Your ignorance pops up again chico. Witness's are saying that the prop master gave the gun to Baldwin and he was told it was "safe and good to go" .

LOL.
You ever been on a movie set before? Their time with the camera rolling is highly regulated due to how expensive it is and to minimize wasted film. They literally pay people to be prop masters and weapon masters (if a film has enough weapons in it) to make sure all intended props are prepared properly and ready to go for filming. On a cheap movie producers will absolutely try to save money by cheaping out on a qualified prop master. Sadly - her death is not the first time this has happened and it probably won't be the last.
Anybody who reads your post is gonna know immediately you're talking out of your ass out of an irrational hate for Baldwin. Which I get - because he is an asshole. But this isn't on him.
Edit: Assistant director handed Baldwin the gun and told him it was safe (https://apnews.com/article/entertainment-arts-and-entertainment-movies-santa-fe-alec-baldwin-25d83890a289bb9ae358f406cd3cbee9) according to court documents.

Just scapegoating the low man on the totem pole as the problem isn’t right. Rumors also say people walked off because of security issues and multiple issue with the prop gun. It will be the producers who should be held accountable..,as they should be.

My question is, why was the gun pointed at her? She isn't an actress in the film, so how did she end up getting shot along with the director?
What a freak way to die. Very shitty.
