Huh. Rolling Stone has a roundtable on Obama with the likes of Michael Moore, and he doesn't grade out any lower than a B- on the issues discussed. Shocking.

So Moore being involved invalidates the article? What about Krugman and Gergen?

I really can't believe people actually think in this kinda way. It is sad how many people are just uneducated about the issues.

I didn't say it invalidates the article, but having a Rolling Stone roundtable with Michael Moore doesn't exactly scream non-partisan or balanced.

As for Krugman? Come on. The guy is a raging liberal. His NY Times blog is called "The Conscience of a Liberal," and he wrote a book with same title.

Gergen has advised both Dems and Republicans and considers himself independent. He's the closest of the three to non-partisan.

An article in a super-liberal publication with two uber-democrats and one independent. It's not totally invalid, but forgive me if I read it with a massive grain of salt.

I could care less about who's on the panel, what do you not agree with as far as the points made in the article?

Well obviously I disagree with the grades given to each topic despite the facts laid out, thus the reason I bring up the panelists handing out said grades.

For example, he gets an A- on the environment, yet the article points out:

He "Supported $3.4 billion in stimulus spending for pie-in-the-sky research into carbon capture and sequestration."

Also, "Obama seems to buy the myth of 'clean coal,' and the EPA has rubber-stamped 42 permits for mountaintop-removal mining. This form of mining is devastating Appalachia," says Robert F. Kennedy Jr. "And Obama is letting it happen."

Obama also "endorsed House bill that betrays campaign promise by giving away carbon-pollution permits. Failed to persuade China and India to commit to global plan to cut greenhouse emissions in half by 2050. Approved logging in Tongass National Forest."

Okay. Pretty glaring bad stuff there. Sure he's done some good to go with the bad, but this report card looks more like a "C" to me, not an A-.

But yes, the article did make some good points and lay out some good facts. I simply don't agree with the grades, and I directly attribute that to the panel.

Grades could be a little more objective I agree, but still, he's done his share of good things so far, probably more than what some people realize or are willing to give him credit for.

Nothing is ever black and white and with that in mind I find the following to be positives (concerns in parentheses).

More troops to Afghanistan (what is the end game? when is it?).
Getting out there to pimp universal health care (back room deals, possibility of no public option).
Stimulus/Bailout (though it might not be enough).
He attempt at bipartisanship (doesn't seem to work much though).
His willingness to go out and talk to the American people.
Support for education expenditures in the stimulus.
Support for cap and trade (not enough capping and no trade to speak of but it's a start).
Willingness to go out and cleanup the image of the U.S.
Reauthorizing SCHIP.
Supporting and signing the following legislation:

Weapon Systems Acquisition Reform Act
Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act
Credit CARD Act of 2009
Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009




* There is no endgame in Crapistan as long as they have oil, natural gas, and opium. Didn't you know?
* Universal Health Care = Free lunch paid for by the taxpayer. That really doesn't matter since smart progressives like you know how to spend what I earn better than I do.
* Bailout = J.P Morgan would've been proud. Push out the little guys while the big boys get bigger.
* Attempt at bipartisanship? Are you high? What is this BS infatuation with bipartisanship? It wasn't designed to be fast. They're supposed to argue. When they all agree on something it usually means the people are getting screwed.
* His willingness to talk down to the American People is more like it.
* Support for education expenditures in the stimulus to pump out more brain dead progressives on the taxpayer's dime. Get Jay Leno to prove me wrong.
* Support for cap and trade. Now that is one of the best rackets ever. It's not alright to pollute the air and water, unless you pay. Again, push out the little guys while the big boys get bigger. I'm sure Dominion Power is happy. They're already a monopoly. You would've made a good robber barron Saden.
* Willingness to go out and cleanup the image of the U.S.? I've got news for you buddy. It's not the U.S that has a bad image, it's the U.S Government. That's because this progressive government sticks its nose in everyone's business and has been doing so for a long time. Mexicans aren't dying in the desert to get into Guatemala.
* Reauthorizing SCHIP. It's alright to take what I earn without my consent. It's for the children. That's mighty Christian of you Saden.
* Weapon Systems Acquisition Reform Act. I actually agree with this one. Why buy expensive weapons systems if you don't plan on using them? I'm mean it's not like this government wins wars anymore. That would be bad for business.
* Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. Have you ever heard of the black market? In case you didn't know, that's how Hezbollah buys RPGs. It's still 20 bucks a carton in Richmond, without tax thank you. But as you've made it clear, you've no love for Israel. As long as I get my cheap smokes it's all good, right?
* Credit CARD Act of 2009. I agree with that one too but your giving Obama credit for Congress's work.
* Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009. Source Wikipedia: "The bill amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 stating that the 180-day statute of limitations for filing an equal-pay lawsuit regarding pay discrimination resets with each new discriminatory paycheck." This sounds like a hustle to me but what do I know? I cling to my AR-10. You can keep the bible. I'm not my brother's keeper / overseer.
