Life is too short to watch bad TV.

Obviously this isn't a new show but I wasn't sure if this was thread worthy....

Did anyone else catch The Office series finale last night? I've stuck with the show through the last two mostly-terrible seasons because I knew it was ending, and luckily last night totally made it all worth it IMO. I thought it was just a fantastic ending.

I have to agree, it was a very good ending, and concluded far better than most shows have the ability to [cough] Seinfeld [cough] Lost [cough, cough]. I think a few storylines of the past few weeks worth of episodes were a bit rushed, but I really enjoyed how this finale seemed to bring everything together.

IMO Six Feet Under had the best final episode of any series I have watched.

yeah, the last office was good. i'm glad it ended well.

i just went through justified. it's a good show. I think people who liked the shield would probably find it worthwhile.

tried rectify (4 episodes) - can't stand it. it's incredibly slow and pointless.

I finally gave up on Bates Motel. It just seemed so pointless and boring to me and I couldn't stand the kid playing Norman. His attempt at an American accent sounded like a bad stand-up comedian imitating a teenager/idiot.

So I never really got into The Office, but some friends of mine who watched it basically had this to say:

"The finale was awesome, showed The Office at its full potential. But this same show has been pretty lousy the past couple of years. So with such a good finale it kind felt like it was clear they were mailing it in until the finale"

Agree?

When Steve Carrell left it was over imo. Spader was a horrible replacement and Krisinski (jim) or ed helms could never carry that show.

yes.

and i tried davinci's demons and hannibal too, gave up on both. hannibal is basically dexter, except completely unbelievable with character i just don't care about. you think a super special investigative team would be smarter than a wandering pack of idiots.

tv's been bad lately. ian mckellen has a show on BBC about 2 gay 70 year olds. it's not great despite a good cast.

maron has a show where he spends the entire time whining about how much his life sucks. it's terrible. the acting is actually fine, he's got good guest stars too, but the writing is grade F, which is shocking for a comedian.

sorry for hatting, but right now it's like mythbusters and game of thrones and a void of talent.

Yeah, I've been very bored with Hannibal as of late. It sort of feels directionless and they are never really able to figure out how to create a cohesive story arch. It just feels like a bunch of serial killers of the week.

Timothy olyphant's massive teeth scare me. That's the only reason I don't watch that show. Odd reason, I am aware; however, I'm entirely prejudiced to that man...
