artmonkforhallofamein07 07-29-2010, 03:58 PM Pretty much.
Of course if I had to run a 300yard shuttle I may have to puke. :)
Any body seen a pic of the new slimmed down haynesworth yet? Just for an eyeball test to see if the guy looks less fat and a little more defined than last year.
murphy196 07-29-2010, 03:59 PM 1 300 yard shuttle made him have to take a shit. lol.
Yeah, so I guess you could say that they "worked the shit" out of him today. I would've made him workout through it, have the fat bastard shit his pants.

ouch!
GhettoDogAllStars 07-29-2010, 04:07 PM Coaches should set their players up for failure more often. When I played football there was nothing nice about it. We ran drills till we puked, and we did it for free.

No one, however, is motivated by stubborn ego-flexing, which is why it's hard for me to view this ordeal as a motivation concept.
I think Albert Haynesworth is motivated by fear of failure. He does not want to be known as the $100 million bust. And if his two choices are to be known as a bust, or a malcontent asshole who doesn't listen to outside opinions if it doesn't help him reach his goal of personal greatness -- I think it's obvious that Albert is less about the team than himself.
Naturally, you could see why Vinny loved this guy.

I don't necessarily think it is a preconceived motivational strategy, it's just the coach being a prick. All my football coaches were pricks too, and as players we just had to submit. To me that's all this is: a dominance game. The coach is the dominatrix and the players are the subordinates. You are right though, some people respond better to it than others.
Not all coaches are pricks -- each one has a different style. But, the prick approach is a valid one IMO.
skinsfan_nn 07-29-2010, 04:28 PM Gotta love it. Fat Al your gonna be in shape one way or the other. There is a new SHERIFF in town and this real SHERIFF is in full control!
Where's that boy wonder trainer at now Fat Al..? Just when you need him to push you off the shitter and run a FEW more sprints? :spank:
Albert Haynesworth's inability to run a third 300-yard sprint in a satisfactory time in the eyes of coach Mike Shanahan prevented him from practicing with the Redskins Thursday.
Haynesworth had to pass a conditioning test Thursday and he entered the day planning to do two sprints. According to a source, Shanahan believed Haynesworth had too much rest time between his runs and asked for a third.
Haynesworth failed the third sprint. A source said Haynesworth told Shanahan he never ran three such sprints during his best Pro Bowl seasons. Shanahan then told Haynesworth that he must not have ever been in shape, according to the source.
Shanahan and Haynesworth have been feuding since Shanahan became coach of the Redskins in early January. Haynesworth skipped all offseason work with the team because he didn't want to be in the team's new 3-4 defensive scheme.
Haynesworth reported to the team Wednesday 30 to 40 pounds lighter but was told he would work with the backups when he returned to the field.
It is not known when Haynesworth will have his next test.
FoxSports.com first reported that Haynesworth had failed his conditioning test.
Mechanix544 07-29-2010, 04:30 PM The 'dude' is a top 5 interior DL in the NFL. There are plenty of really top lineman in the NFL that can not pass a rigorous cardio conditioning tests.
If we all really care about winning, it is time to put all of these ridiculous situations behind us. I realize Haynesworth is a selfish fat bastard and is mostly to blame. But he is a top interior DL in the NFL that combines a rare pass rush and run stopping ability. Continuing to make Haynesworth our public punching bag is not going to help us win.
Having a healthy and positive Haynesworth on our DL this year will help us win.
I can see every aspect of this, from every angle that has been discussed here on this forum. Here is my 2 cents.
Ego is not a good thing, be it from a coach or a primadonna WR or a player. Being the bigger man (Figuratively people.....) is what needs to happen here. If Shanahan is indeed taking a shot at Albert for not conforming to his standards, then shame on him. Public embarassment and intentionally releasing the failure to the media, come on, that is childish. The guy is gonna be on the roster, and from many sources, he is in the best shape of his career. If you are really serious about bringing this team back to greatness, swallow your pride, and offer AH an olive branch, not a sponge of vinegar. They guy IS getting paid, we DO want him to play and blow OL's off the ball, and training camp is where u should put all the other bullshit behind you. If he showed up on time this time, and ready to roll and shanahan did this due to ego or bad blood, then shanahan needs to quit acting like a ****ing middle schooler and get a clue. The bottom line is all that is important. AH makes the team better, not worse. Be the bigger man shanahan, and go out of your way to show AH that he is needed and wanted here, and we want him to help us succeed.
Daseal 07-29-2010, 04:31 PM I lost some respect for Shanahan today. Haynesworth came into camp and passed the two sprints. Because of that, Shanny made him run a 3rd. Had he passed that, he would have made him run a 4th. If you feel he's taking too much time say "Run it now" and he better -- but this was just an ego trip. Albert Haynesworth had no chance to pass this conditioning test regardless of what kind of condition he's in -- bush league move.
