Really? Wow, does that mean they are going to hold him out of practice again? This is really discomforting...If he is in such great shape, it shouldn't be too difficult to pass a conditioning test should it?
Any other details other than just the fact that he failed SS?
I mean it's hard to expect the guy to just pop in in-shape enough this morning, this is going to take a few days probably. Al needs to be in the weight/cardio area instead of his car though.
at 50 yards per interval it's hard to even call it a true shuttle... 600 yards is a THIRD of a mile, with a break halfway through

Grant Paulsen said that someone who saw the test said that AH did not seem gassed, and they were surprised that he didn't pass. I don't get it. Also, it sounded like Haslett administered the test not MS. But this was all second hand info on 106.7 the fan...
maybe he didn't do it fast enough? or they tried to tell him the test wasn't over and he bailed
let the rumor mill spin!

The theory about him not showing up to mandatory mini camp because he was out of shape is not looking so silly now is it? Sure, he got with his trainer to lose some lbs but it is obvious that he hasn't been doing it long enough based on his lack of conditioning.
I wonder how many 300 pounders on the team that went through all the off-season workouts could actually pass the test. Twelve 50yd. sprints non-stop for a man his size is a lot of running.
Had Haynesworth easily passed the test, his teammates could wonder why they put in all the effort. I do wonder why cardeo and running was not a part of his own individual work program considering the fact that was his area of weakness last year.

One thing's for sure, the Redskins aren't concerned about the media perception around this. But you have to figure this is making the rest of the team a tighter group and respect Shanny for the message he's sending out there.

Haynesworth Update
Just checked the practice fields and No. 92 – Albert Haynesworth – is not working with the defensive linemen.
I went inside the facility and saw Haynesworth working on the treadmill alongside strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright.
Certainly, head coach Mike Shanahan will address Haynesworth’s status after practice.

This is what this organization needed for a long time! A coaching staff that won't put up with cry baby star players. I am loving shanny more and more as our head coach. Big AL just needs to go away or suck it up and bust his $100 million dollar ass!

Wow...to be perfectly honest, this might be a real blessing in disguise for the Redskins. By making AH accountable for his absence but giving him a chance, however tough, to prove himself, Shanahan is really strengthening his position as the undisputed head of this team. Can you imagine Zorn having the stones to do this to AH?
I am so excited for this coming season :woot:
So what's the over/under on how many days it's going to take before he "passes" the test. 3, 4?

I'm going with 3. Don't think this will last 4 days.

Yesterday, Shanahan said he'll have to do it until he passes. Until he passes he will not be permitted to practice with the rest of the team. Now, exactly what that means for the long term is anybody's guess.
