Who do you want to start at QB?

I would seriously dismiss anyone's football intelligence if they actually think John Beck is a better quarterback than Rex Grossman, lmao. Grossman has led a team to a super bowl appearance with virtually little experience, and Drew Rosenhaus said it best, "Rex Grossman is ready to flourish with the Redskins," so stop all the nonsense talk about backup quarterback John Beck. Grossman is going to put up better numbers than Brad Johnson in 1999, you'll all be on the bandwagon soon.

I like Grossman...but let's not get carried away. Rex has spent a far greater portion of his career not accomplishing anything than he has facilitating a run to the Super Bowl

Sorry Mr. Rosenhaus, I mistook you for Rex earlier. Welcome anyways.

He probably didn't look at the game log section in Rex's stat sheet for that season. Rex is truly the Jekyll/Hyde of quarterbacks.

Serious (or mostly so) question based on the bolded part. If Rexy took a team to the SB with "virtually little experience", why shouldn't Beck be able to?

I am not implying that Beck will, only that it's not unreasonable to let a "virtually inexperienced" QB, that has some level of talent, lead a team, and that team see success.

Can't wait to see how both QB's do tonight.

...and on that note. Start the Pre-Season Game 3 thread.

Thats a little much.

Yeah Grossman I would say is the better QB NOW. Shanny is hedging Beck has the best and higher upside to lead the offense. We will see, I think the overall feeling is why the hell not give Becks the opportunity. Everyone knows what your gonna get with Grossman: questionable decision making in pivitol situations. Rex's got the arm and ok accurancy, if Rex decision making was better on the field, there would not be a competition at this point and he would be the starter. I dont think the risk is that high with this team as we rebuild.

Mrs. Grossman, please calm down -- I am sure your son is a wonderful quarterback but there is no need for such a visceral reaction.

Seriously man, relax -- 99% of the people on this board just want to see the Redskins win. At the moment, Beck is in vogue. As soon as Grossman plays better, he will be back in vogue. The skins have been without a legit quarterback for so long that noone really cares who runs the offense so long as we score points and win games.

I'm not sure how you can say Grossman is a better QB than someone you've hardly seen play.

I am torn. I am really enamored of Grossman's first preseason game, but I think Beck has been around long enough to become acclimated to the system. We'll see. I really think it's Beck's position to lose. Let's see...
