I was thinking of doing that, but I didn't want to "cheat" you know. I think I'm going to go for it. Hell, I used to eat the shit they served in the Navy all the time and I'm still alive.Just be careful with the seasoning

I took a case of water and places the bottles around the freezer so if the power did go out the frozen water bottles would help keep the food longer and you can drink them as they thaw out.

Yeah really sucks. Im lucky in that my girlfriend has power so i can just stay there. Do you have a electric or gas water heater? I had to throw some food away last night, but i had a turkey that i was able to save, which i have plans to cook tomorrow if anyone has any good tips.

The tree that is suspended by power lines and that i have to drive under to get out of my neighborhood is still hanging there. Its angled so thats its blocking one lane completely and making it so some taller cars, like suvs and trucks, could hit it when they drive under it. This is a pretty major road too, connecting 2 areas together with neighborhoods and apartments on both sides. Combine that with no street lights at night make for a pretty dangerous situation. I really would have thought getting it taken down would have been a day 1 priority. Its big enough that if it fell on your car while driving you could be killed. Plus it could easily take out a whole new set of powerlines.

Is there ANYTHING better than hearing the AC kick on the first time after an extended power outage?
