And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........

Can't agree more. Not much point of having a franchise QB if he gets lit up and is injured and doesn't have anyone to throw to, or a running game to take pressure off of him. Look at Sam Bradford...

Which is probably why the Rams select Matt Kalil, OT, and the Redskins select.............Justin Blackmon WR!!!! ;-)

Yes, not an offensive lineman, but I think if Blackmon is on the board when the Redskins pick, I'd pick him in a heartbeat. No matter who the quarterback is, Blackmon would make life A LOT easier for the Redskins. Could you picture Blackmon and a healthy and improving Hankerson at WR? Blackmon the deep threat, Hankerson who can also get open deep but a great tall possession receiver? With Gaffney and Moss coming back, and hopefully Cooley and Davis (as long as he keeps himself clean) there are going to be A LOT of scary weapons to throw to. Even Rex Grossman would look awesome with that group of weapons. Couple that with Helu and Royster out of the backfield, I'm almost getting more excited about this scenario than I am drafting a QB.

All I'm saying about Mike Shanahan getting fired is that he is no doubt aware that it is standard operating procedure for NFL owners to fire a coach who fails to deliver a winning season in his third year as coach. It is so predictable that it ought to be in the Owner's Handbook, if there is such a thing. Why should Dan Snyder behave any differently than the other owners?

That's an easy question. Because he can't afford to behave like Dan Snyder. Not to mention the fact that Mike Shanahan told him from the very beginning that if Dan Snyder is not willing to allow him the time it takes to rebuild this team, then he wasn't interested in coming to Washington. That he signed a contract for five seasons, and that's how long it's going to take. So, Snyder fires Shanahan after season three, he goes back on his word, the Redskins are blown up again, and we stay on this merry-go-round. Snyder at this point realizes that he has a choice: to go through growing pains for five years verses going through continuous change for another ten years. At some point, you have to realize you trust the football minds around you and you do it their way.

I think i would prefer to continue to stockpile depth. If RGIII slides to 6, pick him up, and count your starts. But he wont, so look to trade out of the 6th, and then basically mimic last years draft. We need more shit to through at the wall. Picks Picks Picks.

We draft 6th. How do you figure that Blackmon would get past Minnesota, Cleveland, and Tampa? I think we'd have to move up to get him but the teams ahead of us would have little incentive to trade down with great players on the board.

If I were Minnesota, I'd stay where I am in the draft and take Blackmon after St. Louis takes Kalil (who I also think would be a great pick for St. Louis). Ponder needs Blackmon.

I expect the Skins to try to sign either Vincent Jackson or Dwayne Bowe in Free Agency.

I'd love to have him too but I don't see any way he falls to 6. Unless someone above us pulls another Darius Heyward-Bey at #7 overall to allow Orakpo to land in our laps. But I don't see that happening as Oakland isn't picking ahead of us this year.

Instead of all the bickering, someone draw up a mock draft!

You mean the NE method of drafting? They have so many picks every year, by sheer luck some of them are going to pan out.

I agree. The Skins are a good QB and bonafide #1 WR away from being a serious threat on Offense. Don't forget the wide receiver talent available in free agency. I wouldn't mind seeing Dwayne Bowe in the maroon and black;). If Cleveland makes a run at Flynn, RGIII could drop to 6.

Alshon Jeffrey is a beast as well and he might be available in the late first round. Trade back with Cincy for their 2 picks.
