Replace Richardson with Claiborne

Yes, add Claiborne in there. Some mocks have us w/ Claiborne although not sure I see that. Area of need, yes, just not sure if we'd go defense again.

Let 'Redskins will trade up for RGIII' rumors fly - CBSSports.com (http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/34210720)

Let the rumors begin!

What inside information does Clayton have? None, I'd guess. Just pure speculation...nothing to see here.

I could smack the shit out of Cam Newton for being so damn good this year. it has driven the price for RG3 up, and here's the Redskins, with the 6th pick, always on the outside looking in. I mean, I think its not out of the realm of possibility to think that if Cam Newton had that prototypical rookie year, say he threw 8 less TD's and say 5 more int's, and he didnt rush for so many damn yards, that the barometer for RG3 wouldn't be so high. I cant help but think that people look at RG3 and see the following............correct me if I am wrong.

1- A Very humble, intelligent, young black quarterback that has pocket presence, very similar to Cam N.

2- An arm that might not be as strong as Newtons, but can sure get the job done nicely. He can also improve that aspect as well with some strength training.

3- A qb that makes good decisions in the pocket, and some would say is an even better pocket passer than Cam Newton was coming out of college.

4- A qb that is very very fast and mobile, with High agility, ala Cam Newton.

5 - A QB that has elite accuracy, which RG3 has shown he has, and someone whos accuracy doesnt take an absolute nose-dive when out of the pocket, ala Cam Newton.

With Cam Newtons performance this year, and with the absence of Matt barkley and Landry Jones in this years draft pool, I can almost assure you that RG3 is going to be the 2nd pick in this upcoming draft, sort of a 1b type thing. If whoever is currently holding the number 2 selection doesnt want him, someone will put a HUGE amount on the table for him, and here is the rationale in whoevers teams mind in doing that, and making that move.........

"If Cam Newton can do what he did with Carolinas ridiculously low talent squad, what could RG3 do with the pieces I have here?"

and only time will tell if that rationale is flawed.

Heres one of the major differences between Cam and RG3; Cam never gets injured. RG3 has torn his ACL at least once in his career. Cam is 6'5 250, RG3 is "6'2" 220...Cam can take those hits and make those cuts in the nfl, RG3 may blow out his knee game 3 he's more fragile and frail than cam.

You might as well be describing Tannehill, with one inconsequential difference

What, that Tannehill can swim?

j/k, omg, Im such a bad person.......I'll send myself to bed tonite without supper, I promise.....

Seriously though, RG3 is going to pack on some pounds, especially before his first NFl training camp, believe that. Whoever drafts him will get his athletic physique, and then slap 15 lbs on it right away on day one, no questions asked. He has elite speed, and another 15 lbs just for some strength and cushion wont take that away, he'd still be faster than almost every other qb in the league. People that say he is undersized and thin, well, he might be.......for the college version of the game.

You'd have to believe that a guy with his intelligence that watches Mike Vick getting slammed with concussions each year, getting broken ribs every other game, etc......is gonna know that to exist and excel, he has to get a tad bit bigger. His size does not concern me one bit. He will still be a premium player day one, right out of the box. And if we draft him and he gets our line, his hits will be limited for 2 key reasons.

#1 - Our line is not too shabby, and have some good young pieces that will only get better.

#2 - Shanny will have a guy that can run his bootlegs and rollouts to perfection. Alot of times, I wouldnt be suprised if he pulls it down and turns on his jets to outrun the OLB shadowing him.

Look, if we get this kid, the possibilities will be limitless, especially with him running this type of offense. Bootlegs and rollouts will be performed flawlessly, and we have the TE's and pass catching RB's with jets of their own to make big problems for defenses, just with rollout seam routes to the TE or even screens to our RB's.

Enough of the stereotypes Mechanix'. Let's draft RGIII just because he's black.
