And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........

yeah, like 2010 when we signed bowen, otagwe, wilson, and cofield and made them all start...

You're comparing those guys to Flynn, Jackson, Bowe, Grubbs money?

Shanny likes late round O-linemen that fit his zone blocking scheme. Smaller, more agile guys.

We'll have to see what they do in free agency. Bowe and Colston are free agents. We all know about Flynn. Thankfully, they don't have any over paid scrubs crushing their cap space, so they can afford to make a splash in free agency. Beck and Grossman combined don't make as much as most team's starting QB. If they like Flynn, pay him and take care of other biz in the daft - WR, LB, CB, O-line.

I proposed this in another thread, because I heard the Bengals might want to trade down to get Richardson, but maybe they can get Cincy's 19th and 24th pick or one of their First round picks and their second round pick for the 6th pick. 3 picks in the first 2 rounds should give the 3 new starters on day one.

You mean the Browns want to trade down.

Yes I would and I predicted something like that in an earlier postDidn't catch that before. Good call.

Trade up I mean. Bengals have the 19th and 24th pick. Heard they really want Richardson. Most of the mock drafts I've seen have Richardson going 5th or 6th. Seeing as they are a playoff team even with a rookie QB, they probably believe they're only a player or two away from being a real contender. Skins obviously aren't, so getting 2 for 1 might not be a bad idea, especially if they can fill some needs in free agency.

Going from 19th to 6th would be expensive. I'd say we'd at least swap firsts, get their second, and maybe even their third or fourth rounder. I'd be thrilled with that. Though, my concern still is whether or not that puts us out of reach of Tannehill. We'd be drafting behind the QB needy Seahawks. That could be risky...

The assumption is that they would make this move if they addressed QB in free agency and wanted to use the 19th and 24th for other needs. Also assumes they can't get RGIII at 6.

It would be nice if they can address QB and WR in free agency and use Cincy's first round picks and our second on CB, LB and O-line.

A) they were not small contracts and that's 4 FAs, bowen wasn't really a starter for dallas but we paid him like he was a good proven full timer, which he wasn't really. same with cofield switching to NT.

B) Grubbs probably won't be that expensive, and I don't think we should sign every free agent available. Jackson is getting tagged anyways.

C) the "old" redskins blew money on bad players, if you pay someone value and they play at value, then how is that awful? just because a good player costs money doesn't make it an awful decision in and of itself. c'mon.

If I told you that the Redskins could trade up to the first overall pick creatively, and it wouldn't cost us any of our young players, but it would cost you in sum: the 6th overall pick in 2012, our second round pick in 2012, our first round pick in 2013, and our second round pick in 2014, would you do that?

That's the price the Buccaneers paid to get Jon Gruden in 2002. And I think the same price could get the Redskins the first overall pick in this draft. I can explain if you wish.

Yes I would do that, and yes, please explain your thoughts as to why it could happen.

I would want both of their firsts and 2nd.

What I think will happen: at #6 the Skins choose Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

that would be the worst draft pick ever. biggest reach of all time possibly
