Sounds like he feels under appreciated in Baltimore.

Hoody basically has a man crush on Ed Reed. If he doesn't stay in Balt then he's going to NE.

Not sure what he's expecting. They aren't going to give a old ass safety big money, when they have several other players they need to resign.
Mahons21 03-05-2013, 09:24 AM If RG3 does what Flacco has done, that is...take his team to the playoffs for 5 straight years, a few conference championship games, a dropped pass and a missed chip shot fg away from a SB, and a SB MVP, everyone here would be saying he's well worth the money. It's not all about numbers. Flacco has started every game for 5 years in a row and it's that stability at QB that has a big influence on why they're in the playoffs every year. I hope RG3 can do what Joe Flacco has done.
Giving Flacco far too much credit for team accomplishments IMO.
Flacco is a cog in the system that is the Ravens, he's hardly the engine that makes it run. He's got a top 3 RB, and a downright dominant defense (even with an aging Ray Lewis). IF RG3 had the surroundings Flacco has and has had, he'd be winning a lot more than that.
Mahons21 03-05-2013, 09:27 AM Even if they "restructure" it's still pushing that money on down the line. Eventually, it has to show up on the books.
Not necessarily. Flacco has only about 55 mil guaranteed IIRC, he practically makes that in his first three years, in fact I think he does. After he's received all that guaranteed money there's no money they HAVE to have on the books. Flacco will most likely re-structure at that point, getting more guaranteed money, but gain much less per year.

...and what if Flacco isn't performing well enough to warrant more "guaranteed" money of that magnitude. That 55 million still has to be accounted for, and that's the money I'm referring to. They'd still be missing 18.5 mil from that 55 million over the first 3 years. Now, if he's playing well, sure you restructure with more guaranteed money. If he's not, he's gone and you still have to eat 18.5mil.

Okay, so worst case scenario they eat 18 mil, and that's if Flacco falls off a cliff.
If Flacco continues his play or slightly diminishes in his play, they can spread that 18 over 2-3 years, and possibly increase upon the 18.
Not that bad of a cap hit for the QB position.
EDIT: If he's making 50 million (including his signing bonus) in his first three years, why do they still owe him 18? Am I missing something? I thought his guaranteed number was like 55
artmonkforhallofamein07 03-05-2013, 09:49 AM Interesting stuff, I guess this could also apply to RGIII.
Redskins cornerback Chase Minnifield looks to reconstruct a promising career | WashingtonExaminer.com (http://washingtonexaminer.com/redskins-cornerback-chase-minnifield-looks-to-reconstruct-a-promising-career/article/2522977)
Fred - I thought the same thing when I read this. The only things I can point to as positives is that a. RG III doesn't have to run an cover like a corner and he didn't have micro fracture surgery which is why the road back to the football field will be tough for Chase.
I also didn't know that he tore his ACL, which doesn't nessecessarily make you believe he is someone we as a team can rely upon to bolster the secondary. When you look at Merriweather, TJ, and Chase there are way to many question marks with health and off field issues there. We obviously need to bolster those positions with healthy and good character talent.
