illdefined 09-14-2005, 03:53 PM as great a coach as he'll always be, last season proved Gibbs is a mortal man ie fallible so why the wash, rinse, repeat? VTSkins897 09-14-2005, 04:03 PM it's always something with those redskins huh? 12thMan 09-14-2005, 04:07 PM Man, this is going to be the most watched Redskins game, perhaps, since our last Superbowl. That Guy 09-14-2005, 04:09 PM Relax, dude. I'm definitely one of those guys who wasn't calling for Brunell before the game, and personally I would've let Ramsey continue as the starter while keeping him on a short leash for the next two or three games. But I also realize that Gibbs deserves our confidence after HOF induction and getting three Super Bowl rings. And Ramsey did turn the ball over three times in 19 minutes! I'm not saying your opinion doesn't count, but the truth is this: 1. you haven't been in all the team meetings, 2. you haven't been in the locker room, and 3. you've never coached the Washington Redskins. It's cool if you wanna disagree with people on this site, but you don't need to bash on Gibbs. I don't think i have, and none of us have been in those meetings, and none of our opinions will change anything, but going by that there'd be absolutely nothing left to talk about. illdefined 09-14-2005, 04:10 PM You can't blame all the offensive woes on Brunell for that stretch. We had problems across the board. The offensive line, playcalling, schemes, execution, etc. To say the entire team was sparkling and Brunell was the only thing dragging down the team just isn't accurate. i'd agree with some of that but ugh, i certainly remember the "quality" of his passes all last season.. sportscurmudgeon 09-14-2005, 04:19 PM SkinstoWin: You said: "He has been thrown to the wolves, played hurt, what more can you ask of a guy?" [He = Patrick Ramsey] Here's what more I could have asked from him. Of the games in which you were a starting QB, the team could have won 60% of the time. Bottom line: That didn't happen. ladyfan06/Matty: You have both broken the code. What matters is winning football games and the things that the coaches are doing now are aimed at that goal. That happens to be true of what they did last year and what the previous coaches did too. They are not out there to lose games and they are not out there to advance some other personal agenda at the expense of winning games. On that point, fans and the coaches ought to agree 100% of the time. Dogtag 09-14-2005, 04:26 PM People in hell want ice water. That Guy 09-14-2005, 04:29 PM On that point, fans and the coaches ought to agree 100% of the time. that's assuming the coaches are always right. Benching gates really worked out well in SD, I'm sure there was disagreement over that, and that cost them a competitive advantage and possibly a win. If feelings get hurt along the way so be it. firstdown 09-14-2005, 04:37 PM People in hell want ice water.People with wax heads should stay out of the sun! |
