Anyway jsarno, to answer your question, I manage a sports bar here in Gainesville called the Sloppy Gator. It's a cool place, and the owners are good people. I was in the restaurant industry the entire time I was in college, and I've been in it ever since I graduated, so I am ready for a change. My girlfriend of 4 years and I are moving back to the DC (Gaithersburg, MD) area in July. That's where all my closest friends and family live. My best friend is branch manager of a mortgage broking company, and I'll be working with him. It's a new industry to me, so I'm looking forward to the challenge. My girlfriend is a personal trainer, and she will be starting her Master's degree at George Mason in August. Should be good times. And I get to go to EIGHT skins games this year!

Hey what company are you working for? I was a mortgage broker for about a year prior to leaving the states. It's a very fun industry, although times are kind of lean right now with the subprime market in free fall. Still, if you get in with the right firm there's always good money to be made. What I loved about sales was the way that, like sports, it was possible to materially qualify your performance. Office politics took a back seat to monthly and yearly numbers. You didn't have to kiss anyone's ass, just produce. Anyway, I'd love to hear more about where you will be working and what you will be doing.

I plan on going to law school eventually but wasn't really ready for that grind yet. I had an opportunity to get a great job teaching English over here - basically a sinecure - and took it. I lived in Okinawa for 3 years as a child and always wanted a chance to come back. I have absolutely no regrets, in spite of having taken a paycut. The girls are smoking hot and think I'm hung like a pornstar. And the food is good too!
