Same, I did a lot of plays in high school and college, and in different theaters around DC.
Looking back, I wish I had done that, but I didn't know I had the ability then. I've attended a few drama workshops and conferences over the years, but I still have a lot to learn. I'd like to do more improv stuff, but I find it somewhat intimidating.

I was in an improv group in college. I thought it was intimidating when I started but it was a lot of fun.

I, ironically, feel more comfortable in front of big crowds. Like if I have to give a presentation to 5 people or 500 people then I'd rather be 500. So being on a stage always felt kind of relaxing to me. Plus it was a good change from playing sports the rest of the year.

I feel the exact same way. Take singing for instance. I've performed in front of hundreds, maybe thousands of people and felt totally at home. However, performing in front of my family totally racks my nerves.

There is something about being in character though. You become someone else and that gives you a freedom to do things you wouldn't do as yourself.

That's deep.

Yes, way deep. I love roles you can really sink your teeth into. Although, I can't write a tragedy to save my life. I only write comedy sketches.

You ever do any writing? Based on the stuff you've written here, I would think you'd be very good at it.

Not trying to pry into the conversation, well yes I am, but not in a rude fashion. I am more of the quick witted improv type. The only thing I know how to write is my name. Its time you should know, I have a pet monkey that does the keyboarding for me.

That explains so much. ;)
