I would love Moore or Jones, but assuming they aren't there when we pick, I still think Persa would be a good look, if not for a second QB pickup.

Dirtbag59 05-01-2011, 08:37 PM Im holding out on the redskins signing Billy Volek Serioulsy, I'm looking at his numbers from years past and they should at least earn him a chance to compete for a starting job. Then again collecting a 6 or 7 figure pay check to wear a red "don't hit me shirt" in San Diego can't possibly be to bad of a deal. Volek could be the bridge we need until Shanahan drafts the guy he wants to mentor. Dirtbag59 05-01-2011, 08:46 PM Volek could be the bridge we need until Shanahan drafts the guy he wants to mentor. I don't know. Theres always something intriguing about trying to make a zero to hero story happen at QB. So long as you have a proven Offensive Mind behind then you can at least drink the kool aid. Personally I think the Redskins will be better off if they focus on building their offense around the running game regardless of who they bring in at QB. And right now I think it should be Beck because despite him being 30 years old he still has the most upside for the Redskins in 2011. I went back and looked at his preseason numbers in 2009 under Cam Cameron in Baltimore, which was a system he had spent time in and he was productive in those games so maybe the time spent here really has helped Beck. Someone like Young on the other hand has more upside overall but bottom line, Beck has an extra year in the system. Still the Skins are taking a huge risk but the Shanahans have spun straw into gold before so I'll hope for the best but still look at the Cardinals as a cautionary tale. As for Voleck. I don't know about the Redskins but he really should get a chance to start somewhere. skinsfaninok 05-01-2011, 08:50 PM What about T Jax, Dennis Dixon, or Matt Moore NO Maybe and NO skinsfaninok 05-01-2011, 08:51 PM Im holding out on the redskins signing Billy Volek He's not bad but I'd rather have Orton. People are seriously underrating Kyle as a qb SmootSmack 05-01-2011, 08:57 PM Volek's gotten his chance to start somewhere, and he has. At this stage in his career now, he's just a solid backup. We have that in Grossman, unless of course he leaves via free agency, who isn't 35 years old SmootSmack 05-01-2011, 08:58 PM He's not bad but I'd rather have Orton. People are seriously underrating Kyle as a qb I think they kind of overrate him. In 3rd down and red zone and 2 minute situations, I don't recall his numbers being very strong Dirtbag59 05-01-2011, 08:58 PM He's not bad but I'd rather have Orton. People are seriously underrating Kyle as a qb I don't want to add Orton simply because I think it's kind of cruel to have Orton compete with Grossman again. tryfuhl 05-01-2011, 08:58 PM What about T Jax, Dennis Dixon, or Matt Moore Last year I wanted to bring T Jax in to back up McNabb.. I'd prob let Dixon compete for starter this year.. I think in the right situation Moore could be a dependable starter somewhere in the league if he played backup in a good fit for him a bit longer |
