Ahh I see BigHairedAristocrat 03-02-2012, 12:52 PM It's within the realm of possibility that he could play for another 5 or 6 years. He's had a year off and takes impeccabale care of his body. Given his injury, if we signed him we'd need someone decent backing him up, but I would think if his neck is ok, manning would want to play for more than just a couple more years. Dirtbag59 03-02-2012, 01:17 PM Locker was not going #1, not sure why you keep saying that. And after the combine Newton actually looked like crap, at least when it came to his throwing. Well in all fairness he's kind of right. Many pundits said he would have been picked first overall had he declared for the 2010 draft thinking the problems he had with accuracy were temporary. When he put together another average season his senior year thats when his stock started to slip. 2011 though no one said he was going number 1 overall. And now I'm realizing Son of Man basically said the same thing. slaps self in head *idiot idiot idiot* MTK 03-02-2012, 01:17 PM The Saints are just playing hardball, they'll get something done Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Dirtbag59 03-02-2012, 01:22 PM It's within the realm of possibility that he could play for another 5 or 6 years. He's got one great year left in him if that and that year might not even be this year. It's very possible he could go the way of Favre. Started out great with the Jets, injuries started to get the best of him he failed down the stretch. Came back with Minnesota, got a little healthier, had a career year then the following year injuries got the better of him. Either way Mannning is a band aid with a very short shelf life. 3 years tops if everything goes perfect. mredskins 03-02-2012, 01:23 PM Locker wasnt considered a top ten pick, most analyst had going mid to late round, maybe even second round. Is Gruden gonna do that QB thing again this year? im fiending like a crackhead for that segment, its must watch tv Wait in fairness to poster Super Bowl whatever didn't Kipper have Locker rated really high? Yup he did: Mel Kiper's Top 2011 Prospects - SportsCenter.com (http://espn.go.com/blog/sportscenter/post/_/id/47008/mel-kipers-top-2011-prospects) Lotus 03-02-2012, 01:24 PM Peyton Manning’s arm strength apparently improving | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/02/peyton-mannings-arm-strength-apparently-improving/) Let the bidding get bigger.. That news, if true, makes the Manning plan much more inviting. I've heard several docs (real ones, not Warpath ones) say that once you turn the corner and begin gaining strength, recovery is both rapid and permanent. Yup he did: Mel Kiper's Top 2011 Prospects - SportsCenter.com (http://espn.go.com/blog/sportscenter/post/_/id/47008/mel-kipers-top-2011-prospects) Look at the date though. April 25, 2010. That was still part of Locker's honeymoon phase with scouts. mredskins 03-02-2012, 01:25 PM Here's the schedule Front & Center: Jon Gruden « ESPN Front Row (http://frontrow.espn.go.com/2012/02/front-center-jon-gruden/) Oh gee what will I be watching 4/2 at 9pm? Nerve regeneration in general is fascinating. ...it's really, really hard not to root for Manning on at least some level IMO. |
