Shiner Ruby Redbird is my summer beer of choice. Also, Karbach Weekend Warrior Pale Ale is great, but only available in Houston, for now.

I hate fruity beers. Leiny's summer shandy on a hot day is the tits though.

on the 4th of july i demanded my woman go and get me a sixer. Since she was going to the new liquor store at the corner and i wasnt sure what their selection was, i sent her with specific orders.

1st choice is an IPA from flying dog only;

2nd choice is regular sam adams (being independence day and all)

very clear instructions.

so of course she comes back with this sam adams "rebel" ipa ....which of course tasted not so great.




* i write demand here bc it makes me feel better. my lady runs me and i am basically her whipping boy, employee and provider of the bottomless wallet. how it really went down is she was was going to the store and i meekishly asked her to get me a six with those specific orders.

Wife went to a friend's house the other night and bought a 6er of Uinta Sum'r Summer Ale (http://www.uintabrewing.com/brews.php) to have. She brought a few home and I had one. Quite tasty, very drinkable on a hot day. In fact, I may wander back to the fridge and see if there is another one...

So Six Point Brewery brewed a special beer for the Phish shows in NYC this past weekend. Vlad the Impale-ale-er. It was delicious. If I could have figured out a way to bottle some for the road I would have.

Agave Cerveza | Flying Dog BreweryFlying Dog Brewery (http://flyingdogbrewery.com/beers/agave-cerveza/) - Pretty good summer time beer. If you remember Tequiza, this is the smarter, better-looking distant cousin that you don't mind being seen out in public with.

Kona Brewing Company | Fire Rock Pale Ale (http://konabrewingco.com/blog/beers/fire-rock-pale-ale/) - Didn't like it too much straight from the bottle. So I poured the next one in a glass, and the longer it sat, the better it was.
