Good night Chico23231 12-13-2015, 07:54 AM Brought a sixer of some Stone enjoy by 12.25.15 to a friend's place tonight, he returned serve with some Pappy 12 year... Good night Damn, nice trade off. Had a couple stop by last night and got turned on to Smartmouth Rule G out of Norfolk. I've been critical of va breweries not bringing enough dankness, but this rule g IPA is a keeper. Complex, balance and Damn hoppy...I just looked it up 88 ibu. That's high. Even though I shit on Oskar Blues death by coconut, let me say this...Oskar Blues IPA is in my rotation right now as my favorite beer. The next beer you must try is this...really light body and the hops combination is something I've never had...reminds me a little of the floralness of heavy seas, but has a sweet blueberry finish. It's a must try, pour it in a glass MTK 12-13-2015, 11:40 AM Oskar Blues Old Chub... love that stuff Also got a sixer of Ballast Point Victory at Sea coffee and vanilla porter yesterday, very good. Really smooth for 10% abv. Chico23231 12-13-2015, 12:33 PM Oskar Blues Old Chub... love that stuff Also got a sixer of Ballast Point Victory at Sea coffee and vanilla porter yesterday, very good. Really smooth for 10% abv. I think old chub is just ok...this is the new one which was released I believe just this summer, here is a review: Oskar Blues' New IPA Does Things Differently - Eater (http://www.eater.com/drinks/2015/8/25/9201433/beer-review-oskar-blues-ipa) Definitely not a typical IPA MTK 12-13-2015, 12:55 PM I'll definitely check out that IPA, thanks BDBohnzie 12-14-2015, 01:51 PM I'll 2nd Oskar Blues IPA. Good stuff. Definitely a different vibe from it, which I equated to the Aussie hops. Death by Coconut is definitely not for everyone. I can see someone not liking it. I'm enjoying it though. Spent Saturday afternoon at my current fave MD Brewery, rar, in Cambridge. My friend got a few flights, while I stuck with pints. I had 2 of their Farmhouse Nectar, which was very good. Kinda like a saison meets an IPA. 7.4%. I got a Boba Fett growler with this in it to share with friends. Also had a blackberry saison that was very good as well. One of my buddies got a gift from his sister who was in Chicago last week. Half Acre Daisy Cutter, Three Floyds Alpha Klaus, and Ska Brewing Mole Stout. So between those and my growler, we have some good drinkin' to do. MTK 12-15-2015, 05:31 PM Just picked up some of the OB IPA, along with a couple of bottles of Bourbon County '15. over the mountain 12-16-2015, 10:41 AM got a growler of alpine pure hoppiness yesterday, really good, 4.5/5. --------------------- nice find - DTC had bottles of alpine's duet. real fresh. i like alpine's line up. still havent had nelson yet. Chico23231 12-18-2015, 02:15 PM Just found out my beer store tapped Maine - Lunch the other day...time to get the growler filled. Folks, is there a preference "glass ware" you break out for drinking good beer? For the last 6 months I've been using wide mouth mason jars and its great. keeps the beers surprising cold and the wide mouth drinks for maximum consumption when I need to go there( i.e. listening to an annoying conversation by a semi-girlfriend, watching the opposing team score a touchdown against the skins) over the mountain 12-18-2015, 03:23 PM Just found out my beer store tapped Maine - Lunch the other day...time to get the growler filled.
