SirClintonPortis 09-24-2010, 09:07 AM I think I read over there at the Raider forums that the crowd was chanting "Bruuuuuce" at the end of the first half.
Man, that's worse than when our fans booed the team in our win against the Lambs last year.
SolidSnake84 09-24-2010, 09:10 AM I'm not suprised seeing as though he didn't want to stick around at workouts after we traded for Donovan. If it's true that he said that Gradkowski asked for playing time then hell, you came in and thought you were going to just waltz in and take his job. Of course he's gonna fight for it. Jason underperformed but he doesn't have the emotional attatchment to that fan base as he did with ours. So there aren't going to be that many folks in the media or in the public that will defend him. Bruce had the team going in an alright direction last year, Hue saw what Jason had to offer. As I've said many times before, the tape doesn't lie !
Truer words had never been spoken.
I said it last year. Jason Campbell was the only quarterback in the NFL that didnt have to work for his job. Jason was the anointed starter here since 2006, and no matter how poorly he played, he never had to worry about replacement. Fans got the taste that he was contributing to the team's woes when Collins played lights out in 07. No way a 5-6 skins team led by Campbell would've made the playoffs. Jason would have finished 6-10 or maybe even 5-11!
Now he figures he can do the same shit in Oakland, just walk in and be the starter, not having to earn anything, or work for anything. Gradkowski deserves this job. Not only is he the better player, but he earned the job. Jason never did anything but show up and expect everything.
CRedskinsRule 09-24-2010, 09:24 AM So, will we have a new way to bring Campbell up every week. He really is gone guys, can we just move on?

You want me to unleash my homo love for Jay Cutler every week instead?
SirClintonPortis 09-24-2010, 09:41 AM Did anyone ever believe that? I think that people thought we could keep JC, get McNabb's production, all the while keeping our second round pick.
Yeah, McNabb comes in and showed that he's skilled at a couple things NOT recorded by "stats". I think that because he was an Eagle, Skins fans didn't want to pay attention to the good areas of his game, and I think it's completely understandable. He's been the face of a division rival for over a decade, of course one's going to emphasize his flaws.
aceinthehouse 09-24-2010, 09:50 AM We know this story...
He'll probably get traded this time to Buffalo for a conditional 7th round pick for the 2019 season.
In which case the Bills will sign Jeff Garcia, draft Locker in the 1st round and have these 3 QB's on there roster for 2011.
But JC will get automatically told to the press, that JC is their starting QB by Chan Gailey.
That they know he has the skills and doesn't need to prove anything to anyone....
There's just no need for JC to earn the starting spot for the Bills....
Isn't that the story we have here...?
lol

Really? So I guess Manning, Brady, Brees, etc. were all fighting for jobs last year?

That's a really good point. I'm one of those that was attached to him because Gibbs drafted him, he was the qb of the future & he is a likable media figure, though not dynamic in the least. I'd also watched him beat my Hokies in the sugar bowl in 04-5 & thought he was pretty composed as a leader.
Now as you said, he's got to start over, but the catch is that they expected him to be a starter from day 1 & play like their qb of the future. Well, either the future has been delayed or Gradkowski is their future.
SolidSnake84 09-24-2010, 10:05 AM Really? So I guess Manning, Brady, Brees, etc. were all fighting for jobs last year?
I dont think i made a clear enough point. The QB's you named above all had earned their jobs through their play, and were clearly the best option for their respective teams. Jason never did that, he never had to do that. Nobody made him prove anything. They just gave him the starting job...
When I said Jason didnt have to earn his job, i meant that even in 2006 when he was unproven, he just was thrust into the lineup, and its like somebody told him "Jason, no matter what, no matter how poor you play, you will never have to worry about being benched".
Brunell: outplayed Campbell (playoffs)
Collins: outplayed Campbell (playoffs)
It took a new GM, and a new coach to realize that Cambell wasnt the teams best option. And as soon as a new QB was brought in, Jason sulked, wouldnt talk to the media, wouldn't workout, etc...
Now hes doing the same thing in Oakland....
JC was a rookie in 2005 when Brunell took us to the playoffs, the job was clearly Brunell's that year. JC wasn't even active most of the season if I remember right. So saying MB outplayed him really isn't saying much.
This is all beyond silly right now anyway. Why are we still talking about this guy? Anyone?
