What's your wager? If the Colts take RGIII I guarantee Andrew Luck is a Washington Redskin.

That's a no brainer.

To my eye Luck, Griffin and Tannehill are outstanding athletes for the QB position with very similar physical traits that separate them from the other QBs in this class. (excpet for Wilson but he has a different problem)

They all possess a skill that I think is critical when I look at QBs: playmaking, the ability to turn a negative play into a positive and in this regard all 3 are above average playmakers.
All three can throw very well on the run/move (which is a critically important trait that some elite QBs possess Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Mike Vick, Ben Rothlisberger etc).
Luck, Griffin and Tannehill can can all extend plays with his legs by evading pressure and can also gain chunks of yards that extend drives with his legs.
Griffin's speed makes him the most dynamic but Tannehill is no slouch either having been a good WR and Luck is also an above average athlete too.

They all throw the ball well.
Griff has the best deep ball and Luck is the most consistent.
I think Tannehill has the best arm talent of the trio and can throw with more velocity then both Luck/Griffin.
I think they're about the same level in throwing motion.
I think Tannehill has a quicker release and a cleaner throwing motion then the other 2 but he sometimes throws from a 3/4 to almost side arm delivery which makes his throwing motion the least consistent.
(Or I think Tannehill has the best throwing motion when he's doing it right but he's not always doing it right.)

However their is a clear distinction or separation between Luck/Griffin and Tannehill.
Where Tannehill is raw Luck/Griffin are both high efficiency QBs that exhibit high level command of their respective team's passing offense.(But I would be remiss not to mention that both also have more offensive talent then Tannehill)
But imo the attributes that prevent Tannehill from being on the same tier as Luck/Griffin (i.e efficiency and command) are attainable through experience and coaching.

I tend to agree with you on most of your points. One thing that is key to success in the NFL is to be able to extend plays. They can all do it, though IMO Tannehill is not quite at the level of the other two in pocket awareness. They can all make plays with their legs, as needed.

I feel that Tannehill is not nearly as accurate with the deep ball as the other two. Also, his inconsistent technique causes him to miss more sideline passes than he should. He's deadly accurate throwing between the hash marks but that sidearm stuff has got to go. He has a very strong arm.

I see much of the same skill set in Tannehill as I see in RGIII. Like you, I think his game just needs to be refined.

My point is that I would have no problem with the Skins signing a mid-level, interim QB in FA and taking Tannehill with the 6th pick, if that's what it comes to. If there is no chance for RGIII and the Skins decide to go with Tannehill, I just don't want to see them trade down and miss out on their guy. Let Mel Kiper and others spout off all they want about the Skins "reaching" and whatever other know-it-all stuff they want to say. Just don't miss.

The same was said about Locker and the Panthers took Newton.

who do you think we end up with smoot if we dont get PM, Hoyer, or Taneehill?

Mark Sanchez!!!!

Seriously though, not sure. Foles?

I think we're going to be part of the Manning discussion but won't go out of our way for him

I think/know we like Tannehill but not sure if enough to take him at #6, and not sure how low can we go and take him

I realize no one is really talking about Hoyer but I do believe we're going to make a serious offer for him. Will be it be our 1st for Hoyer and one of their 1sts? Probably not. Our 2nd straight up for Hoyer? Maybe. Our 3rd and a player for Hoyer? That's sort of what I'm thinking

The Sherman wants Tannehill rumors remind me a lot of the Pete Carroll is only going to draft USC players rumors.

Well he's going to be a winner which means he's going to put up terrible numbers and the defense is going to pick up all the slack on their way to wins over teams like the Redskins.

I say we make a conditional trade with the Pats. If Hoyer reaches certain bench marks (yards, TD's, wins, etc) then we give New England a 2nd round pick. Anything else we give them a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Still Hoyer should be plan B, IE if on draft day they don't get RGIII then they trade with New England for Hoyer as I personally like the idea of him better then all the second tier QB's.

Wouldnt mind this at all or a healthy PM. I just hope their primary focus to get RGIII and we wont know till draft day, until then its all smoke screens and rumors.

I don't really like Peyton. Peyton is just an accident waiting to happen. Sure maybe we can fail only so many times but I see us looking back at Peyton this time next year, wherever he ends up, and saying "it was so obvious, all the warning signs were there."

If we signed Peyton Manning would it be quickly after he is released Smoot or would there be a waiting period?
