Well your loss our gain. When did this come out back when Flynn was coming out of college? I ask because there was a write up on Flynn that I read last night and I'm going to have to go hunting for it again. The writer had nothing but decent but fair things to say about Flynn. Made me want to take a chence on him, oh wait I'm biased I wanted the team to get him for a while now.
Not exactly a.....glowing recommendation is it?

Even if the Browns sign Matt Flynn in free agency, the Redskins should still trade up to the #2 slot in the draft with St. Louis.

So...you didn't actually read the Cosell link and then didn't post the link to your rebuttal...
1- no. Cosell could have said nothing but a glorified endorsement, I was commenting on the quoted part that was posted here. He seemed to have a very negative view of Flynn based off of what he quoted and what he quoted which perhaps I misunderstood seemed to be a break down of Flynn from when he was coming out of college and the poster here compared him to McCoy. Personally I think Flynn is 10X better then McCoy.
2- I didn't post it because I was on an electronic device that would not allow me to give the hyperlink.

Basically they are commenting on the fact that these players will probably get big contracts but will they live up to them. or are they worth it.
Sure, Flynn looks good in limited action, and one could argue he's better than the guy his agent will likely refer to in negotiations—Arizona's Kevin Kolb.
Kolb was traded and awarded a six-year, $65 million contract, $12 million guaranteed, $10 of which is a signing bonus.
Flynn is unproven with upside, just like Kolb, and you would think that a team would avoid dropping a lot of cash on a guy who might play at a high level, but as Kolb's contract shows, they absolutely will.
Someone will pay Flynn big money, because if they don't, someone else will. You can't offer Flynn a short, safe contract because in a quarterback-hungry league, people will overpay for upside.
Now, this isn't a black-and-white issue—PFF has the Giants at 31st, and they won the Super Bowl. Still, putting Flynn, an unproven quarterback, behind a shaky offensive line, throwing to wide receiver groups who, at best, have one very good to great wideout and a bunch of role players doesn't sound like a successful formula to me.
Unless Flynn goes to a much better team than expected, he's going to struggle, and that inevitable big contract is going to look really ugly by midseason.
I never said glowing endorsement though I said a decent fair comment. I'm just not a fan of McCoy I guess, but the comparison to Kolb is more accurate I believe. Now I really don't like Kolb because I really think he sucks and had proven it in the 16 games with the Eagles over the yrs he was with them. Flynn has only had 2 games, 1 half decent, and 1 really good game against a really good defense. It's that really good game to me that says a lot. He can play in the NFL, he can make all the throws, he has pocket presence, he can manage a game. The flip side is can he do it for 16 games? and no one has the answer for that but no one can say that about RGIII, or Tannehill, or Luck, or Weeden. The others have not even shown they can manage 1 game in the NFL let alone 16.
Posting again, worth the read

because another team could trade up to any spot ahead of us and grab him. if we want him need to trade up

I would rather trade to 3, we can't top the browns if they want to go to 2, but if RGIII is sitting at 3, I would pull the trigger on a multi-pick deal to get ahead of them at 4.

ok but the only reason i could see washington take payton manning is for the simple fact they want to load up on offence and then draft matt barkley next year
