Should have been passed in 1900 the first time. Pretty shitty our representatives failed to pass this in 2018 and 2020. We have a long way to go before all citizens of this country feel welcome in this country.

Actually surprised this wasn't done in the 60's

Of course it should be passed the first time it was introduced.

Well, we've had a string of shitty Presidents at the worst time for having them. I hope we can break this cycle, but 2024 isn't looking good for our choices.

If you had to vote today, and it counted, for the 2024 election, who would you vote for?

This would actually be a good question for anyone here that participates in the political threads.

De Santis would have my vote as of today. The actual election is a long ways off, so there are more answers I need to know about him, but I like him so far.

Note - I transferred this post from the Ukraine thread because I don't want to distract from that discussion, which is infinitely more important than this question.

When Mark Levin goes off, nobody the speaks the truth more clear

This is it.

This is the comment that made me switch sides.

I was on the fence, but this is so clear and concise that everything clicks.

Wow, the left really are terrible people and need to die off so we can create our own state!

Oops, sorry Chico I said the quiet part out load. I'll be better.

Levin was in the position in 2016 of either sticking with his principals or losing his audience (The talk radio base audience became overwhelming MAGA). It is why I said he rolled over and showed his belly and is still afraid to accurately portray what even limited elements of MAGA are, even if he doesn't like some or even many of their positions.

(BTW Glenn Beck is another that showed his belly - ie broadcasters that vehemently opposed Trump and accurately described him that then bent the knee to keep their broadcast position).

This was/is a serious problem that doesn't get enough talk.

There were dime-a-dozen clips (https://youtu.be/2aJ1f1i2JZI) from 2015/before of GOP politicians speaking truth about Trump. Then they all flipped when they realized their careers in politics would end if they didn't fall in line because their voter base all became Trump diehards.

Depends on who is running.

In the Primaries of those mentioned possibly running.
Nicki Haley>Tim Scott>Pence>DeSantis
General all the above>Dem (probably there are many I'd just sit out if they were the nominee - ie Sanders>Trump

"We cannot lose this generation to the mind-control poison that has permeated our schools," the candidate declares. "Our fathers and grandfathers did not die in battle only to lose our freedoms to soul-less Marxism. … We need leaders who love, honor, and respect our nation and are unashamed of its Christian values and traditions. I will be that leader!"

^^ from a campaign ad for a republican candidate in VA.

DeSantis is just one of many conservatives who spend all their time and effort on pushing the "cultural warfare" agenda. Pandering to their base that the left is mind controlling our children to turn them into gay perverts who hate America.

America is weird.

I dont understand it anymore and I dont even care to.

Kasich is about the only person id vote for. Maybe Manchin. But they are to moderate and dont play the juvenile game of gas lighting, name calling and slogan banging.

American politics are theatrical now.
