Update: McCain Selects Gov. Sarah Palin as Running Mate

The potential for Palin becoming President in the event something happens to McCain, small chance as it may be, doesn't concern you at all?

She wouldn't have been my choice for VP. But I don't think she's nearly as clueless as the past month may have indicated. I think she will do a very strong job on Thursday in her debate. But she'll probably make one minor mistake midway through, maybe she'll end a sentence in a proposition, and that'll be all over YT and this board.

I don't think Palin is going to get an invite to Mensa any time soon, but she's hardly the idiot she's made out to be.

It's worth reading the full transcript of the Charlie Gibson interview. Frankly Gibson himself apparently doesn't fully understand what the Bush doctrine is. The camera work was very artfully done to portray Gibson as an imposing character and her in a far more diminutive posture (nothing wrong with that, but something to be aware of), and they cut out quite a bit of material form the interview that's very informative.

Gibson-Palin Interview Transcript (http://marklevinshow.com/gibson-interview/) (or find it anywhere else, I'm not fan of Mark Levin either, just happened to be tops in the Google search for a transcript)

It concerns me just as much as Biden becoming president, or Cheney becoming president or Al Gore becoming president. There aren't a lot of VPs in recent memory that I would say, "Yeah, NOW we've got someone to really fill in here!"

You're assuming the viewing public knows what a preposition is and where it should be placed.

I get it mixed up too. Sometimes I just don't know where to put it at.

Based on what exactly?

Everytime she opens her mouth she sounds like an idiot. It's beyond the point where anyone can say she was just having an off day.

Maybe she'll prove the haters wrong on Thurs., personally I highly doubt it. I think she'll give plenty of classic YT moments.

Is she really on the same level of the people you mentioned?

See Mheisig's post with the full transcript of the Gibson interview. When Obama says he's been to all 57 states, yes someone posts it but for the most part it's buried. As well it should be, because it's one minor gaffe during a lengthy forum. But if Palin did that, it's like those were the only words she said.

By the way, I meant preposition...not proposition :)

There's a difference between a gaffe and flat out being uneducated and/or unaware of the issues at hand.

Cheney would kill his own mother if it made him a buck, Al Gore is too busy pushing Al Gore and the environment to even notice anything else going on around him, Sarah Palin thinks that seeing the tip of Russia on a clear day gives her foreign policy experience and when Joe Biden isn't trying to cram his entire foot into his mouth, he's telling paralyzed people to stand up and plagiarizing his speeches.

Meh. Palin may be an idiot, but she at least seems to be the most innocent of the bunch.

Take your pick: a crook, and idiot, a cheat or Al Gore. Pretty unimpressive group.

Palin has come off pretty bad in portions of these interviews, no question. But the election isn't between Obama and Palin. Although their resumes experience wise are pretty on-par with each other. This is between McCain and Obama and no matter what side of the political spectrum you're on, there is no debate that John McCain has far more experience than Obama.

I also have great faith in the Secret Service and the docs at NNMC Bethesda (I do some work with their IT group so at least I know their network works) keeping McCain above ground.
