dmek25 05-26-2010, 06:06 PM SS84, is your sig from zombieland? SolidSnake84 05-27-2010, 08:21 AM SS84, is your sig from zombieland? Yup it sure is. One of my favorite movies ever. I saw it like 5 times in the theater. It reminded me of Dead Rising (Xbox360 game) so much. Epic. SolidSnake84 05-27-2010, 10:05 AM A mod maybe could change the thread title, but as of 8:44 AM, the US Coast Guard is reporting that the "top kill" operation has been a success. They said a second ship will soon begin pumping cement in the well to finish off the wellhead for good. This is great news guys.... MTK 05-27-2010, 10:09 AM Good news but at the same time it's hard to get too cheery about it. Now there's the tremendous mess to clean up. 'Top kill' effort succeeds in blocking oil leak, Coast Guard admiral says - latimes.com (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-top-kill-works-20100528,0,4282960.story) firstdown 05-27-2010, 12:47 PM Great News. Should have happened sooner. Chico23231 05-27-2010, 12:47 PM Gulf of Mexico oil spill called worst in U.S. history - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/05/27/gulf.oil.spill/index.html?hpt=T1) Great that they blocked it...but I think they waited so they could overtake Exxon as Number 1 firstdown 05-27-2010, 12:49 PM You know a DEM has FU when James Carville talks about you. Foward this to aroun the 2:00 section and see James go off on Obama. He is saying what I have been saying for several weeks. YouTube - James Carville Begs Obama "To Take Control" Of The Oil Spill! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtvoLrQBxis) MTK 05-27-2010, 12:53 PM I still don't understand what Obama would do that would make the operation any better. The gov't would still need to rely on BP for their equipment and technical knowledge. 12thMan 05-27-2010, 01:14 PM I love Carville, but he's out there sometimes. The minute Obama pushed BP out of the way, every Tom, Dick, and Harry would have been on TV spewing non-sense about he's intruding on private industry and it's a government takeover. If Carville or anyone else had the answer, this thing would have been plugged a long time ago. I guess Obama just wanted to have the worst oil spill in history on his watch. Makes perfect sense. firstdown 05-27-2010, 01:16 PM I still don't understand what Obama would do that would make the operation any better. The gov't would still need to rely on BP for their equipment and technical knowledge. Thats right. I just said we could have brought in some more people who might be able to offer more ideas on how to stop the leak. The good news is I had to use the words "could have". Hell I bet Obama shows up tommorrow acting like he helped shut down the leak. Its nice he could even take the time to stop on his way to his vacation. | |
