What REALLY grinds your gears?

Good afternoon sir.

In keeping with the thread, another thing that grinds my gears is having employees that finish an advanced degree and instantly come into my office asking for a raise.

Am I being a douche or being reasonable? This particular employee's resume hasn't exactly been stellar. He went today to meet with our CTO because he is "unhappy with his career trajectory". Just because you suddenly have a Master's entitles you to nothing.

We have a idiot working for us ,finish 4th in his class at Penn State ,can't find his way out of a paper bag!

Know tons of book smart people that can't survive in the real world.

I mean it's amazing that he got his Master's, but there is ZERO on paper proving to anyone in my department why he deserves a raise. He's like, "Here's a diploma. Give me $$$".

Set up gotomypc, for 2 quickbook computers that our remote people use (remote people = owner, owner's wife, owners daughter in 3 different states LOL). In order to have any type of effective account management and access control you have to get a corporate account, not the "pro" account that lets you have 2 computers with unlimited users all using one account login. Stupid...

One of my big gripes too. Just go, you're only messing up the flow and causing more confusion.

1. coffee lids that leak.

good god that pisses me the feck off.

for something so small and simple, it can lead to disaster

2. our firms IT guy.

never really fixes anything, just band-aids things.

seems we always have to call him every 2 weeks

spends half his time on the clock actually just socializing with certain staff members which costs us money to him hourly and that employees time as well.

my boss who insists on printing out internet or email crap that throws the printer i use out of format.

before i print i need to get up and check the printer to make sure it isnt screwed up. if i dont, it ends up printing on envelopes or printing the first page 20 times.

then he just leaves all these random email/internet printouts on the printer and never picks them up. i organize them on a table next to the printer but they will just sit there for a few days until i throw them away.
