It's pretty easy to determine his price, the team needs to move closer to $25 per year and up the guaranteed. $20 per year just isn't a realistic offer.

Bruce needs to get it done or its another failure for him and Snyder period.

Lets play GM....I Ask Cousins a simple question BEFORE DRAFT..Do you intend to play for us long term??? and if so how much is your asking price..WE NEED TO KNOW! ..if the skins believe that He wants to be here long term and his price is realistic then we plan our draft ..If we don't believe he will be here past next year then we draft a QB with top pick and let him learn a year behind Cousins..Is this asking to much???

Cousins has said (in so many words) that the tag is kind of dictating what his agent is asking for, which means it's somewhere around $24k-$25M a year. I'm not sure on the guaranteed part of the deal though. I don't think our front office is too dumb to know what it will take to get Cousins signed long term. I think they're merely playing the game and will wait until the very last to sign him to a long term contract.

I'm not really sure what the strategy of not signing him long term accomplishes. You've already paid him $44M guaranteed for two years. Last year, I could understand. This year, not so much.

This really isn't about Bruce. If Snyder wanted to get a deal done then this would be water under the bridge. Think about it, Snyder had no problem overpaying for numerous players through the years. He wouldn't let certain guys leave the building. They totally overpaid is Norman. He only had one good year. Frankly I never even heard of the guy until the blowup with Beckham. Gave Fat Albert 40 million. Yet he refuses to get a deal done with someone that's drafted and earned it the hard way. The only reason I can come up with is it's personal. He doesn't like Cousins.

There is definitely something going on.
IMO I think Snyder wants a glamour boy QB.
Some one he can party and pull some hot ass with(lets not pretend married billionaires are faithful).
Kirk isn't that guy.

There is nothing going on.

Denver low-balled their Super Bowl MVP (Von Miller) and did not make a long-term deal until the July deadline last year. And there was plenty of drama from leaked details of the negotiation to Von Miller taking shots at Elways in social media.

This is how deals typically happen in the NFL. It is annoying as hell for us fans, but people need to quit acting like this doesn't happen elsewhere.

Honestly, I'm more concerned at the fact that the team has been very frugal in its spending, than any other drama stuff.

Thank goodness for (a) post on topic and not about how much the guys here like to swallow meat and (b) very reasoned and thought out. This is how deals get done - there really isn't ANY reason for either side to sign now, kinda like when each team takes the entire 10 minutes to make the draft pick that everyone knows is coming, you never know if someone will come in with an insane deal that you can't pass up.

Also, I'm going to try this:

I just Rewalsr that Somretimes the Fualt of buying a Jersesy is that Itiot it was Composetory and I was Afeard I'd miss out of Storgn the shirt and then have to Empliment lots of Gaissn that Saftys my Ma from Minnisota because I'm the Faviort crazy Hatter and I'm not Phsyched I ran the Foof and crashed Heloing and got a Brutual headache of Stroried porpotions. I'll never drink Agianst my man Ruhskins.
