Stop trying to use facts to support your argument. It is confusing to those on the other side.
sdskinsfan2001 05-28-2017, 10:29 AM July 15th is sill 40+ days away. Can't wait to read 237 more stories that say the exact same thing. And I'll read them all because I'm sick and can't help myself.

and he is the WORST QB in red-zone efficiency:
Kirk Cousins has been the NFL's worst red zone QB, and it's not close | FOX Sports (http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/kirk-cousins-has-been-the-nfls-worst-red-zone-qb-and-its-not-close-091916)
We can all grab onto a stat or 2 to back our sides.
At this point, I think a fair contract, where he earns about 18 - 20 million a season is right on, based on where contracts are TODAY.

cousins needed to be better in the red zone...can't disagree BUT Sean mcvay did him zero favors in terms of strategy and scheme. It was sickening to watch them abandon the run...it's a recipe for failure around the end zone. Also desean and crowder...both small but weren't used correctly.
Call me crazy, I'm looking forward to Gruden calling plays again.
Schneed10 05-28-2017, 09:19 PM Not going to make excuses for Cousins but our squad was not remotely set up for red zone success. No size at WR, calling fades, mediocre goal line RB.
If he still sucks at it this year, no excuses. There's length at WR, a smash mouth beast at RB for short yardage, no excuses now.

I agree 100% with your post but there is still the contract dilemma. If the Skins are concerned about Kirk's Red Zone play and they wait yet another year to see if that improves prior to seriously trying to sign him long-term what would that contract look like, how much would it adversely affect re-signing other players, and would Kirk even want to be here after all that has transpired? All of those questions are still unanswered.
Depending on what, if anything, the Skins still want to see from Kirk before they make an honest attempt to sign him LT, they may never see it. Yet that doesn't necessarily mean he wouldn't be a good choice to be The Man at QB for them. It is one thing to be risk adverse to a reasonable degree and another to be paralyzed by indecision. I'm beginning to think that Skins management is afflicted by the latter.

Agreed.
Even if we don't improve in the redzone (and I hardly see how we could NOT improve), with a better defense we are a playoffs team...
I want them to sign him, and my guts say it will happen just before the deadline.
The only thing worrying me is: do they want another year to see what KC's capable of without Sean McVay?...

sandtrapjack 05-30-2017, 01:15 PM If it is not an 11th hour deal on July 14th, I think they are content to allow KC to play under tag again this season. They might tag him again next season, but I doubt he will play under that tag. Chances are if they have to tag him that third time, he will be traded before that tag takes affect. Can't see Bruce Allen paying 32m for one year. But I also cannot see him letting KC walk without anything to show in return.
