Cousins 3.0, he's going to sign the franchise tag

I don't think Snyder is stupid or vindictive enough about RG III, to blame Kirk or hate the guy. After all it was the Kirk issue that cost Scot his job. Snyder needs stability now more than ever. Seriously, if he messes this up, the franchise is back to square one, not to mention after Gruden gets canned, who the hell will want to even be seen in Redskins Park, let alone be the Skins HC? Fans are already at the breaking point, and with DC now a winning sports town, the moderate fans can go elsewhere for sports entertainment whether it is the Caps or Nats. Even the Wizards aren't all that bad anymore. Skins fans need to be way more proactive in the event Snyder botches the rebuild. I don't think he will, but if he does, they need to stay home or show up with the paper bags over there heads like Lions fans did in the Matt Macmillan days. Snyder needs to take his cue from Mr. Cooke and just sign the damn checks and enjoy the football.

There is definitely something going on.
IMO I think Snyder wants a glamour boy QB.
Some one he can party and pull some hot ass with(lets not pretend married billionaires are faithful).
Kirk isn't that guy.

Snyder you would think needs stability or else fans will start to ditch the team in droves. But who knows. There is another possible logical explanation a signing hasn't been done already that hasn't been mentioned for awhile, and that is a trade indeed is being planned or is on the table for further discussion. I don't think that will be the case, because of the stability issue I mentioned above, but we are talking about Dan Snyder.

There is nothing going on.

Denver low-balled their Super Bowl MVP (Von Miller) and did not make a long-term deal until the July deadline last year. And there was plenty of drama from leaked details of the negotiation to Von Miller taking shots at Elways in social media.

This is how deals typically happen in the NFL. It is annoying as hell for us fans, but people need to quit acting like this doesn't happen elsewhere.

Honestly, I'm more concerned at the fact that the team has been very frugal in its spending, than any other drama stuff.

This is a totally different issue. Cousins beat out the guy that the owner basically had a man crush on. Gave him special treatment and mortgaged the future for. After 2015 a deal should have gotten done but it didn't. Why?

Also in the end Denver signed Miller and a deal got done. Not the case here.

Again, I put this on Snyder. It's personal with Cousins. He can overpay low quality human being like Haynesworth, or overpay Norman, who's a good player but not a great one, but can't get a deal done with his franchise QB. Seems pretty obvious what's going on here...

Yes, because the deadline has not come yet. You make it sound like we are the only team with a franchise tagged player which has dragged out negotiations on a long-term deal.

This is how the NFL is run, this is how teams deal with negotiations period. This is all business, both sides are looking for a number and they have NO REASON to budge at the moment.

And yes this is the same situation, just a different player position.

I have never seen a starting NFL QB sign two franchise tags before. Never..

SF69 has a point here. How much do they need to see before they know if he's the guy? Does he have to win a SB first? There's no doubt he's the best QB we've had in a long time. Other than Roberts first year. Unless you're sure you're gonna get someone as good as him in the next 4 years freakin' get it done. We've already spent more than we needed to with this Tag shit. This makes it look like they're really complete idiots when it comes to evaluating a player. Is he as good as Peyton? I seriously doubt it. But can he help us win a SB? I like his chances better than anyone we've had in years. If they were still doubting me after the numbers he's put up the last 2-3 years I' wouldn't want to be there either. Fix the fxxxking defense!
