They fucked pretty royally and their only hope is Romo. I wouldn't call them a model franchise and it is pretty laughable what they did.

Preach...signing such a huge free agent bust and a then to lose a 2nd round pick to make him go away is another kick to the nuts

Cousins is set make $23.94 million under the franchise tag in 2017 if no long term deal is signed by mid July. If Cousins refuses to play (unlikely), the tag would roll over to 2018 and 2017 would not count as a tag year. Cousins has to play for Skins in 2017 since he signed the franchise tag today. The Skins could use the transition tag in 2018 which would be a 20% increase to 2017 or $28.78 million. The transition tag would allow Cousins to get offers from other teams but the Skins can match any deal and Cousins would have to sign it regardless. If he plays under the transition tag, he would be a free agent in 2019 as the Skins are unable to tag him the 4th time under the CBA. I am fully aware of his disdain for Allen/Snyder but minus the cap ramifications the Skins do have control the next 2 years although Cousins has the leverage financially. The caveat here is that if the Skins don't match offers in 2018 under the transition tag, they would receive no compensation for losing him. This is not an ideal situation but having Cousins under control for 2 years and no future cap hits is not as bad as it seems especially if the cap continues to increase annually.
First post but a long time lurker.

He needs a few typos and made up words to really fit in.

I think there's more to this than the skins not paying him - but they sure as hell should put a fair market value contract on the table and make KC the bad guy if he won't sign.
Exactly. They must establish the moral high ground or they will appear like completely incompetent morons.

The fact that Kirk hasn't been dealt yet (since this morning) is a good sign I think.

It looks like Dan Synder may get a second chance at RG3

RG3 is hot garbage
But could Terrelle Pryor show him how to switch to receiver? He is 6'2" and fast.

RG3 is hot garbage
I completely agree with you!
However, according to some reports, Dan Synder seems to think that RG3 is still a hot commodity.

This is a mess. BUT - you got to wonder how much of this is true, and how much is media frenzy. The reporters all love Scott and defend him, and seems like a smear job on Allen (to match the smear job on Scott). I have no idea what's going on anymore - but who leaked the alcohol story? It may not have been the Redskins brass or Allen, maybe another lower level shmuck who let the alcohol story getting out. Who knows, who cares. I just want to move on.
Regardless:
1) I hope Cousins signs long-term. Have NO idea of recent reports are true about Allen / not signing long-term, etc. But he seems like a straightforward guy with a good relationship with Gruden. I wouldn't put it past him to sign if the numbers are right.
2) If Cousins leaves, screw him -- Colt is not horrible, and could be serviceable until we find an answer at QB -- Gruden is a QB friendly coach. We still have a good team core -- good O-line, elite TE (Reed, Davis), and good WR (Crowder, ?Pryor, ?Doctson). If defense improves a little, we're at least an average team, with some luck we're in the playoffs even without Cousins.
FA moves so far are fine, not sure if that was already planned with Scott's input or Allen is at helm, but who cares about Scott, he's gone. Hate to see his personal issues all over the news, but that's his problem now.
Let's move on.
