Come up with a new name for the Redskins

Washington Veterans…. Not horrible .. it works with the song HTTR .. will be known as the Vets .. obviously a nod to the military vets .. just thinking out loud ..

Another Hint by Jason Wright …. stuarting people’s memories , people that watched the great redskins teams .. he was talking to The game announcing crew .. Joe T ..I have no idea what they will end up with ..

Joe T ..I have no idea what they will end up with ..Agreed. That is one theme they have stressed but I haven't seen any name that stands out to give a nod to the past. I really just wish they would announce it, but you heard Wright talk about trademark AND unexpected surprises. I really do trust they are doing it right .

I’m with you .. it seems like some smokescreen stuff going on .. I think we will be surprised and I’m not buying that list …although the Hogs check a lot of boxes ..

Washington Warthogs. Nod to the hogs, the badass tank destroyer aircraft (military), and it begins with W. Wouldn’t shock me. Wouldn’t be my first choice either - I’d prefer wolves - but I could see it.

A lot of over stretching about that "authentic" comment... Especially when you consider authentic isn't even about Washington in the quote [emoji1787]

He's talking about Cleveland's renaming process and trying to say nice things about them because he knows how it's like to be in that spot, knows they're gonna get roasted by some people no matter what they pick, and would like not to get roasted too hard by too many people...

He's speaking in very overall generic terms.

Trying to see it as a hint towards (or away from) any name is a MASSIVE stretch.

Just look at the videos they made about the rebrand. Add the Jonathan Allen "dogs on 3" huddle break video, with players howling. Look at every single online poll. And tell me Redwolves/Wolves is not a clear cut front runner at this point.

He acknowledges the popularity of it, but I wouldn't call it very supportive of it. He does expand on the concept of the name encompassing the spirit of the fan base and "authenticity"
