ethat001 11-17-2015, 09:28 AM It's not a fuckin argument, it's a fuckin fact. Look at the numbers home vs away. It's wildly disproportionate. Yes starts with Jay, everything starts with Jay. But cousins needs to play better on the road
Road: NYG (5-5), Falcons (6-3), Jets (5-4), Patriots (9-0)
Home: Rams (4-5), Eagles (4-5), Bucs (4-5), Saints (4-6)
Then it is also FACT that the teams we played on the road all have winning records, and at home do not. Our road record is bad in part because the road games were harder than the home games.
Look, if you don't like Kirk, you don't like Kirk. Only time will tell if he's going to be legit, but the reality is he's played well the last 3 games, and 4 out of the past 5.
Chico23231 11-17-2015, 09:30 AM I can't believe how we are talking about Cousins being the future of the team..i say trade him now for 4th round pick and lets get RGIII back behind center where he belongs..NOT!! but this was exactly what was being said not that many days ago..i am glad the redskins don't listen to us the fans..
We beat teams with a combine record of 16-21. We haven't beat a team with a winning record.
Cousins only win on the road was Cleveland in 2012.
lets pump our brakes and nobody is saying cousins isn't the future. The main reason he is we have zero better options. FA and draft looks bleak with QB. Im for Cousins as the starter next year, but lets chill out a little bit.

So what your saying, your fine with his performance on the road and versus winning teams. gotcha...Stay medium
ethat001 11-17-2015, 09:35 AM I think you're cherry picking stats just like the fictional "3rd quarter" problem the media harped on before. There is nothing magical about road games. It's different, for sure, but I don't buy the premise that he falls apart on the road. We almost won the Falcons game minus the Grant slip-up.

You mean the interception Cousins threw? :)
Im not cherry picking nada...im just saying we need to calm it the f*ck down with the Cousins stuff. Lets see how everything plays out. I want Cousins to be the man, but I still have concerns.
Schneed10 11-17-2015, 09:47 AM Middle of the pack, and on the come. Again, no reason to rush into a decision now, but with the way it's going we'd probably be crazy to let him go.
I wouldn't rely solely on this information. Nobody thinks Ryan Fitzpatrick is a long term answer. But this definitely illustrates progress.

No reason at this point to think we can't move forward with Cousins. Of course the last 7 games will help see things more clearly, but he's at least trending in the right direction.
Starting over (again) doesn't make much sense especially when you see what's out there for free agents/draft.
What would a Kirk Cousins contract extension look like? | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins (http://realredskins.com/2015/11/17/what-would-a-kirk-cousins-contract-extension-look-like/)
Schneed10 11-17-2015, 10:02 AM Yeah. And like if we step back and look at the league overall, who are the QBs on the list there where you'd say they're rising and could become something?
You'd have to mention Winston, Mariota, Derek Carr, Bortles and you couldn't leave Cousins out of that. None of those teams would give up on their guys yet, and we shouldn't either.
Unless Kirk tanks over the next 7 games. But I don't think that happens.

Cousins has proved himself to be a starter in the league. I would have no problem giving him middle of the pack starter money at this point. I'm willing to bet on the progress we have seen- and move on to build around him.
IMO GM SM devalues the QB position relative to the rest of the league. He can live with that kind of contract as long as both sides are not too far apart and focus his resources on the draft.
I see us taking a flyer on a QB in the mid-later rounds to serve as a backup. I love where this team is headed.
