Who is Kirk Cousins?

And of course, behind every discussion about benching Cousins looms an even larger, more drama filled discussion...

When sitting on the bench, what is Kirk's favorite kind of pie?

I actually googled kirk cousins favorite pie to try and make a joke but found nothing. warpath is sparred.

however, roy helu is very conflicted when it comes to choosing pecan vs pumpkin pie and he hates, absolutely hates cold thanksgiving food.

In the end I think Cousins is who we thought he was. Good backup, probably not starter material. And ultimately we're still building so does it really matter who's at QB right now?

Wouldn't mind seeing him back next year as the backup.

Where's the beef?

Agreed.

D coordinators aren't stupid. They watch the game film. They observed Jay's 1st down--base formation--base personnel run tendency. So? They fill the box with 8 and their ILBs have the green light to "fire their gun" when they read run.

But, aggressive 8-man boxes shouldn't necessarily doom the run game. Good run games face that every week.
But when you combine 1st down predictability with using inadequate or inconsistent blockers i.e. Carrier/Reed to block the POA it gets harder.
I still don't understand why they don't use more I-form with Daryl Young as the POA blocker rather then TEs?
Anyhow, couple that with rotating RBs.
Add not sticking to the run outside of 1st down.
Add lack of variety/misdirection/ not finding the right mix in the run game i.e. Alf likes tosses and Alf needs carries to get rhythm.
Add telegraphing the 'type' of run based on the runner i.e. Alf inside runs, Matt Jones edge runs, CT shotgun runs/draws.
You start to get the picture of why the running game is struggling.

When we can run against the Rams you would think we can run against anybody. Who knew..*shrugs*

We should be able to run against the Bucs though.

Reality is they could do both. Seahawks drafted Wilson in the 3rd round after paying Matt Flynn.

Cousins should not be prohibitively expensive, they can sign him and still draft a guy to spread their eggs across multiple baskets.

I agree. Regardless of how KC finishes out the season, we have to draft someone next year.

We knew this this time last year when he was throwing all of those laughable interceptions before he was unforgivably benched.

Because the division is wide open and because Cousins hasn't been replaced for the greater good, it matters a great deal... Hopefully next season McCoy will start until the coaches are ready to start Paxton Lynch... that's if Scottie Mac drafts him.

Cousins is on pace for 4,016 yards, 16 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

I mean that's not terrible, no? :Smoker:

I don't think we've had a 4,000 passer since Brad Johnson in 99. That is so sad on so many levels.

Lynch could be the number one overall pick in the draft. He has the arm, size and mobility.

I feel like people don't watch other games and other QB in the league when calling Kirk a backup. He's far from a franchise QB but we have a lower chance of getting one of those in a draft then making the Super Bowl.
