Citing coronavirus, Trump threatens to adjourn Congress to make recess appointments
President Trump said Wednesday that he was considering taking the unprecedented step of adjourning both houses of Congress in order to make recess appointments to fill government posts, citing the emergency created by the coronavirus outbreak.
“If the House will not agree to that adjournment, I will exercise my constitutional authority to adjourn both chambers of Congress,” Trump said at a Rose Garden briefing of the coronavirus task force. “The current practice of leaving town while conducting phony pro forma sessions is a dereliction of duty that the American people cannot afford during this crisis. It is a scam what they do.”
The president appears to be referring to Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which grants presidents the right to adjourn Congress “in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment.”
Such a move would be immediately challenged in court, however, and the logistics of carrying out such a plan immediately drew scrutiny.

I have a biracial kid so perhaps I'm overly sensitive but it equally amazed and angers me when Fox news or conservative people lose their shut because a Cheerios commercial features a bi racial family.
Latest one is because gerbers baby for this year is .. omg .. black!!!
The looks and comments we would get when we left the DMV area were surprising.
Not the right thread sorry

https://www.foxnews.com/us/gerber-baby-first-adopted-childIn 1989 my fiance at the time ( we didnt end up getting married though) and I were walking thru the streets of Philadelphia. She was going to Princeton and she was black. I am a white guy, who grew up in oxon hill md. She got the rudest vilest comments from the black men calling her race traitor, oreo and worse. I dont condone anyone who makes degrading or bs remarks based on race, from any perspective.

The extreme pettiness goes both ways, last I heard two wrongs don't make a right. Nancy Pelosi is just as bad as Trump. The other day she referred to him as morbidly obese. Last I checked I think that meant someone who was 100 pounds overweight. I guess she needs a dictionary.
A BMI of 40 or more is considered to be morbidly obese. I bet Trump is close to that.
But that's not what I was talking about in the first place. Trump is breaking off a 40 year tradition.

The Peolsi troll is a good one...she is looking for a response. She’s baited him before with things and Trump has bought into it...then she picks up the hammer he lays at her feet and knocks him over the head with it.
It doesn’t bother me what Peolsi says and thought it was funny. Trump shouldn’t take the bait, but he probably can’t resist.

That is just another example of the pettiness between the parties escalating to utter nonsense.

Trump probably started a new tradition. Take a portrait of your predecessor and stick it in the bottom of his personal toilet where it belongs.
