Id bet my house its to distract on the bad economic news today. This appears to be his MO when bad news is coming down the pipeline. When Ivanka was reported to have sent hundreds of emails from her personal email .. trump was worried how that would look so he made bombastic defenses of the Saudi Prince who just ordered the dismemberment of the reporter khashoggi.

And it worked.

The number of people who filed for unemployment benefits rose for the second consecutive week last week as coronavirus cases surged around the country.

Roughly 1.43 million people filed for unemployment last week, the Department of Labor said Thursday. The figure is a 12,000 increase from the previous week. Unemployment claims had been falling for four months from a peak in March.

The number of people collecting jobless benefits also increased to 17 million, up from 16.2 million the week prior.

Not defending Trump here at all, but if we are still in terrible shape like we are now come November, maybe postponing the election is not the most terrible decision. I know there is mail-in voting, but that is not the answer for the majority of people.

We will in all likelihood have a vaccine out to the masses by spring of 2021. Donald Trump would be President for 4 to 5 more months tops, if we voted in March / April. Maybe they could do something special due to the circumstances and he would leave office 30 days following the results of the election?

He's been planting the seeds of this shit for months now. I wonder, who REALLY is his handler? Anything that I consider "the long game" is too far beyond his intellect. He's just too stupid.

He wants schools open, state's open, no mask mandate, rallys and conventions ... but hes worried about COVID when it comes to elections?

I think it was just a distraction to take away from the GDP news personally.

I defer to you on this because that is right in Trump's playbook. The more I think about it, the more I think his only motivation to be reelected is to avoid charges being brought against him once he's out of office. He's already gained a ton financially through being POTUS in between milking every government staying at his properties, or the tax bill that no doubt saw increased savings going his way.
