So in your view the guy was not
provoking the police?

He was returning a police helmet to them, no idea what sort of threat a 75 year old man could pose to cops in riot gear anyway.

So what truths are in Trump’s wacked out conspiracy theory?

Trump hitting a new low

Trump floats conspiracy theory about 75-year-old protester shoved by Buffalo cops (https://www.politico.com/news/2020/06/09/trump-conspiracy-theory-protester-buffalo-cops-308716)

I heard about this. Haven't looked into it at all. Trump could easily be/probably is the asshole here or he could be correct. But imo it doesn't matter. You don't have to share every opinion you ever have. Its OK to STFU!!! Especially as President. Just STFU! He is going on 80, so this lesson will always allude him apparently. Like what possible benefit did he think would come out of this post? It's frustrating because I like his policies in general (not talking COVID or the protests stuff, just back when life was normal). It makes common folk supporters like myself always on defense. Offense is more fun and take away the dumb fuckery there are some good arguments (from the conservative side) that he was doing good things here.

Y'all wanna have some good reading. Read Tom Cotton's oped in the NYT. But skip the article. Go straight to the comments. Cotton is either Hitler reincarnated or the next president of the USA.

Try looking at things objectively, that is probably impossible. Returning a police helmet? What was he doing with his cell phone?

15 to 20 police officers in their 20's and 30's dressed to the hilt in riot gear and armed against a 75 year old white guy who was unarmed. Seriously, come on!

Objectively speaking, he does have a helmet in one of his hands as he's walking over to them. What was he doing with his phone? Who knows without audio and he hasn't made a statement yet. To me it looks like he was just talking and gesturing with the hand he was holding the phone with. Either way the situation escalated way too quickly and the police response was 100% incorrect.

Most of the people that have lethal run ins with police are not average citizens, that cannot be denied. Their behavior increases the chances of a bad experience with police. Are you trying to tell me that isn't true? My rap sheet has a couple speeding tickets, driving with a cracked windshield and a couple parking tickets, in 43 years of driving. No criminal offenses on my record. How do you think a cop is going to act when he comes up to my vehicle compared to someone with multiple stints in jail, some for violent offenses?

Just the person's past will put the cop on high alert, which could lead to problems.

If police access that data prior to interacting with a suspect I am sure it leads to bias for a person but in this incident Floyd was already in police custody, they had him in handcuffs and he was sitting in a passenger seat of a car. I really don't see how his past justifies what follows.

The whole thing is crazy. The initial cover up by police that he tripped and fell, the we were just following orders and clearing the square, to the resignation from the riot unit and now we get to the real bogeyman Antifa! The ironically proclaimed organized anarchist organization I swear it is from a Stanley Kubrick movie or could be a chapter in a modern day Catch-22 novel.
