Giantone 06-12-2018, 06:06 PM The US has often been buddy buddy with dictators, including Stalin, when it suited us. 5 Brutal Dictators The U.S. Helped Slaughter Hundreds Of Thousands (http://allthatsinteresting.com/us-dictator-alliances)
I'm not defending or decrying it. Just saying dictators fall because they are dictators, not because of US moral outrage.
Well we haven't had a dictator here in the WH before so this is still new to us.
Giantone 06-12-2018, 06:17 PM Some things I consider reality with as little spin as possible:
1)NK tensions have eased considerably
2)Stock market numbers are in positive territory
3)Our allies feelings are hurt, but not to the point of abandoning any of our alliances
4)The economy is generally good
5)Oil prices are rising due to mideast and global pressures
6)Israel/Iran tensions are a serious concern
7)US school shootings have not been dealt with in any effective way
8)Putin - Trump secretly got married in Vegas, but hey what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas
1) agreed but only becuase he blew up his nuclear weapons site ,it collapsed
2) Yes , but they were for Obama all so.
3)...don't be sure
4) as it was under Obama all so
5) No, due to your number # 6 .......and trump pulling out of the Iranian deal.
6)Yes, I agree and Iran isn't NK,it won't be as easy.
7) I am in 100% agreement with you.
8) Now you know why Melaina has been out of sight.
CRedskinsRule 06-12-2018, 06:21 PM I especially like the video montage i just saw (of very real fox news hosts and gop members - not fake ones made by the liberal news deep state machine lol) absolutely slamming in the most smug way Obama for even mentioning he would like to sit down with NK and “talk” , than fast forward a few years - and voila these same exact people praising Trump for his photo op with NK. Shocker.
The only difference is that “pussy” Obama would not have kissed Jung Un’s ass and given concessions about ending American military exercise with SK for absolutely nothing. Talk about a weak and bad deal. Absolutely amazing how people think this dude is some hardball tough guy. Only people he talks tough to is our allies. While he lets Putin off the hook and makes Jung Un look like Ghandi. GTFOH.
One other thing though, NK did dismantle a test site, and then today announced dismantling a rocket facility (i believe, but waiting to see confirmation) Yes those are both steps that can be reversed, but so can holding training excersises. And I promise one thing, while we will know if they try to rebuild, our armed forces and SK's are more than ready even with one training cycle cancelled. I would call these steps on both sides decent good faith efforts, and hopefully they lead to a verifiable, lasting peace.
I did read the texts of the Panmounjung accord from earlier this year and the agreement text from yesterday. There is still wiggle room, and I imagine if NK decides to get out of the deal, our next practices will be pretty damn intense.
What hasn't been addressed at all in any of the texts is how NK/SK become one Korea again, even it is stated as a goal throughout.

If you further read up on the dismantling of the “test” site. It is one of hundreds AND more importantly it had served its purpose and was no longer necessary. NK put their propaganda spin on it being some olive branch of peace and Fox news ran with it because they want Trump to look like a peace maker. Lol. NK and SK will never be one Korea as long as a murderous dictatorship is running NK and for Trump to say that he is impressed with Jung Un for being able to take over and run it in a “tough” way does nothing towards a goal of world peace. It hinders it.
punch it in 06-12-2018, 08:26 PM Can you imagine if Roosevelt had flattered Hitler, or how about if Obama had called Bin Laden a “smart cookie” or said he respected him? I bet you if you polled the Trumpers today that they would give higher marks to Jung Un than Obama. What is going on with our Presidency is absolute lunacy. No more. No less. For some reason this guy who has spent his life conning Americans (ill spare you the list of examples), is now getting a pass on anything and everything he does and says simply because his base does not like the black dude or the woman who he ran against. This is not a personal remark directed at you or chico or anyone on this board but at the majority of his base.
CRedskinsRule 06-12-2018, 08:26 PM We will see. They haven't said which engine test site is being dismantled, and how it will be verified.
So far, I think it is positive steps, but only if they go down the right path. If they don't we haven't committed to any type of irreversible move so we will be right back at Defcon 1

They use to call Reagan the teflon presidency, but fact is he did a lot of good things.
Trump is no Reagan, but he is the most anti-socialism/ pro capitalistic Realpolitik president since Reagan. And that is a refreshing change to a lot of Trump's base that doesn't think global, socialistic world views should be the people running the USA. They can run the rest of the world into a socialistic dumpster fire, just let us be Muricans.

Right. Though You still haven’t discussed my initial point which was how come the same people championing Trumps small step, scoffed and ridiculed Obama for merely mentioning face to face diplomacy with Jung Un?
CRedskinsRule 06-12-2018, 08:47 PM Actually, I did. I said I kind of agree with your point. But it works in the reverse as well. If President Obama did this same type of action MSNBC and CNN and their ilk would be singing his Praises for striving to open the hermit Kingdom up. And fox would I agree be demonizing President Obama's actions.Right. Though You still haven’t discussed my initial point which was how come the same people championing Trumps small step, scoffed and ridiculed Obama for merely mentioning face to face diplomacy with Jung Un?It really goes to the two points of views that exist it's why Trump is such a polarizer. One set of views holds socialism and socialistic economic principles are more important than capitalistic Market principles. One set of views holds that you need to build community by being a community organizer while the other viewpoint holds that you offer tasty carrots and strong sticks. I think that President Trump offered strong sticks and tasty carrots, hopefully the hermit Kingdom chooses to go down the path of tasty carrots. we will only see which one as this progresses. I do believe this is a good first step on both sides.
